Escaping Digital Abuse

Navigating the complexities of online abuse can feel isolating. Here, we share experiences, advice, and resources to help you reclaim your digital life and find support.

Challenges Faced

"He is everywhere. It's like I am his full-time job. He won't leave. He spams me with generated fake accounts, he gifts to gain trust, and he will even pretend to be women to gain information about me. He uses everything against me and will even blackmail me for sexualised content. He doesn't care that I say NO. That turns him on and he thinks it's a game. He has money, so police won't help. He makes me feel like the only way out is to kill myself."

Support and Resources

"Someone to talk to that understands. There is no support. Digital domestic abuse is not recognised as a crime, so there is no support and no support groups to meet people with similar experiences. I am an online influencer, so I need to be online to do my job. But he is making it so I can't work. He enjoys the fact he is burning my brain out and laughs at the physical symptoms I experience. He always threatens me with the police too. He plays on my mental health, my autism, and ADHD. He is soulless."

Practical Advice

"To cut all contact. Don't give in. Keep putting space between yourself and them and seek support. Also, sign my petition which is on my Instagram wall, and hopefully, if everyone gets in the comments and shares their experiences, we can show this is a big problem that needs regulating."

Inspiring Empowerment

"I just want to make other people feel like they can be open about their experiences so we can problem-solve together and create a strong community of survivors so we can keep each other safe."
